Karwa Chauth has many origin stories linked to it, one says that because the festival is conducted by mostly North Indian women, the military campaigns were conducted by men in really far off dangerous places which would mean that men often had to leave their wives and children at home and go to the war.

How can you celebrate Karwa Chauth this year?
You can start a few weeks in advance by either ordering your favorite dress online or shop directly from the vendors if the shops are open. You can order for cosmetics, jewelry, or team up your old gold jewelry with your gorgeous saree and lehenga.
You can also shop for stuff like the Karwa lamps, matthi, henna, and the decorated puja thali.
What can we Eat in Karwa Chauth Vrat?
On the day of the fast, women eat and drink before sunrise so that they can fast the whole day.
Karwa Chauth Vrat (Fast) – It includes foods that one is supposed to eat the early morning before sunrise on Karva Chauth. It includes Citrus fruits and pomegranate, Dry fruits, Nuts, Coconut, Cooked food(You can have two rotis with a simple sabji),
Sweets vermicelli kheer, and even mathri.
You can prepare the traditional ‘Soot Feni’ or ‘Sargi’ with your better half and commence the day.
What is Karwa Chauth Sargi?
A Sargi is a pre-dawn meal that is prepared by mothers-in-law in order to bless their daughters-in-law for a happy, blissful marriage and relationship stays strong and true.
In these times when you can’t go out, all decked up and visit your relatives, what you can do is turn to binge-watching shows (preferably stay away from cooking shows), or pampering yourself with a facial spa, massage and decorate your hands with henna designs. If you have a furry friend, then make sure to spend the utmost time with them as they’re your little ‘stressbusting’ furballs.
In some regions, it is customary to exchange gifts like painted clay pots filled with bangles and ribbons and sweets, few cosmetics, and cloth items like a handkerchief; so you can decorate your pots while you wait for the evening.
In the evening, you can doll up in your traditional sarees, lehengas, or Patiala and wish your relatives and friends by calling them on a video call or a phone call.
And finally, when the sun sets and the moon is visible from your balcony, you can look at the moon and then your loving husband through the chalni and break your fast. Do not forget to click selfies and save these treasurable moments.
